Scrappin With Sharon and Smokey Creative Team Project

Hello Krafthead,
I hope everyone had a great time with family and friends on Christmas. I can’t believe it is over!
Today, I would like to share a sympathy card with you as a Scrappin’ with Sharon and Smokey’s Creative Team Project. My Mother’s friend lost her sister on Christmas day and I knew these files would be perfect. I used RM00155 for the frame and RM00090 for the flowers.
I threaded sheer ribbon through the frame and tied the ribbon into a bow. For the flowers, I used Tattered Rose and Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist. I had leaves and Prima Say it with Pearls in my stash. The paper is from DCWV’s Bella Amor Stack. The sentiment is from a rubber stamp I have. That was cut using the smallest Nestability. I added pearls (from my stash) to the corners to finish off the card.
Be sure to drop by Sharon's store and check out these files and others! She is always adding new files!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Creative Team project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Day 24-OCTC

Happy Christmas Eve Krafters!
Christmas is TOMORROW! Can you believe it? Well today, I would like to share a project I did with my oldest (the other girls was just in the room playing with boxes LOL). We call DH’s dad Grand Pa Pa (you have to roll the “R” off your tongue). He is really not into Christmas, but we wanted to do something for him. Each year he buys them pajamas, so I decided to have DH take a picture of all of the girls in their pjs and present him with that.
It is no secret that I really struggle with masculine projects. You would think with four brothers and a husband, I wouldn’t…the irony! While it is not perfect, I really like how it turned out! It is a special gift that my daughters were involved in making, yet it is made just for Grand Pa Pa! Only thing left is to print the picture and add~

Day 23-OCTC

Hey Krafters....

I can't believe there are only a couple of days left until Christmas! I have enjoyed sharing different projects with you all! My goal was to share and inspire. I pray I achieved that!
On to the project! I have been seeing chargers EVERYWHERE! However, I would like to thank Cassie from the Sistah's Scrap Too Forum (cricut board) for the inspiration (that girl gots talent). Anywho, every time I would go to Wal-Mart or Mike's I would forget to pick some up. Well they had them at Mike's for 99 cents last week and picked up a couple (I am going back for more LOL). OMG-ness, these things are so fun and easy to alter! They make beautiful keepsakes. I made this one for my MIL. I wanted to make something that reflects her. I really hope she likes it and all of you as well!

Day 22-OCTC

Hey Krafters!
Welcome to day 22! Today, I would like to share a simple card. It took less than 10 minutes prep and put together. I used a Studio G stamp from the dollar spot at Joann’s Fabric. I stamped the image with Versa Mark and used Stampendous Silver Embossing Powder. That was the only technical part to the card. A few layers later…done! This card is easy to mass produce. Hope you were inspired.

Day 21-OCTC

What’s Going Down Krafters?
For day 21, I would like to share another inexpensive gift. We invest a lot of money into our electronic cutting machines! Why not put them to work J? Not only is my daughter a Hello Kitty fan, so is my SIL! Since SIL is a fanatic, I decided to give vinyl another go (that stuff can be addicting)! I used three layers of vinyl for HK. It was actually easier to layer her than I expected. On the opposite side, I just put a letter “K” for her first initial.
Here is another, quick, easy but cute customized gift a teenager would love!

Day 20-OCTC

Hello Krafters!

Welcome to day 20 of the Operation Countdown to Christmas! Today I am going to share a VERY inexpensive and fun gift for the sports lover in your life. It only cost me time to make this project!
I painted an old frame I had laying around the house. I painted it with a foam brush to give it a distressed look. I went online and found the Lakers’ team logo and cut that out with my Gazelle (I’m telling y’all MTC and the Gazelle are the bomb together!) as well as the NBA trophy. I embossed the trophy with gold tinsel embossing powder. I also cut the numbers of the team’s starting five from a true type font on my computer.  I printed the wood floor from a website online as well. To make it sportier, I used the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge to cut the basketball floor lines (I have no idea what they are called). My DH collects basketball cards, so I took one of his duplicates and matted it with yellow cardstock. Finally, I used my Gazelle to engrave the last name of the recipient and the date.
I’m telling y’all, the Gazelle is the bomb! When it is teamed up with MTC, it is even better! I was even able to get the Gazelle to be cordial with the Cricut LOL. So I hope you all enjoyed today’s project. It was quick, but more importantly, FREE because I already had everything here J  Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Day 17-OCTC

Happy Saturday Krafters!
Welcome to day 17 on the count UP to Christmas Day! Our children are important to us. Aside from us, their teachers help mold them into men and women. We must not forget our teachers! For today’s project, I would like to share a quick, but functional project a teacher can use all year long.
I have wanted to use the new chalkboard paper by DCWV since it was introduced a couple of months ago! When I made this, I knew I had to incorporate it. So for this gift, I kept it simple. I used the Black Currant Stack by DCWV as well.
To make this, it is important to use a thick cardstock or chipboard. I used one 8.5”x11 black Bazzill cardstock for the base. I folded it in half and one side in half to make an easel. I added the pattern cardstock just to jazz it up a little bit. I printed the calendar using Publisher. I cut the frame using the Top Note and Classic Oval Nestability. I used an embossing folder to bring a little texture to the project. I also added on lone flower to it. Again, it is about function more than beauty.
For the base, I cut another Top Note shape and mounted the sticky notes to it. I also cut the “to do” side with the Nestabilities and added a place to store the chalk. It did not take long to put this all together.
Please remember our educators during this Christmas season! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Day 16-OCTC

Hey Krafters!
I wanted to focus on family and friends who may live out of town. Let's face it, most of us are trying to budget as much as possible and cannot afford to send everyone something. Here is a solution for you! This is a fast and simple gift idea that will be personal and you did not have to break the bank. It only took a couple of minutes to put this together with the help of Photoshop Elements. Now I must admit I don't know much about digital layouts (as you can see). I have only done one or two J But that doesn’t stop me from trying and sharing LOL!

Anywho, you can add your photos/journaling to the program, send the layouts on a disk, some binding material and there you have an instant photo album! I will only cost a few dollars to ship. Or these can be sent via email J This is a cute gift idea that any family or friend will cherish forever. Remember to add journaling (I did not add to this layout) to share the story behind the photo(s).
Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Day 15- OCTC

Wow Krafters!

Day 15!! I remember when I considered not posting for the 25 day count down, but I am glad I am pressing on! Again, I thank each and everyone of you for sharing this experience with me ;-)

On to the project, I am sharing a layout. Layouts are great gifts to give loved ones. This allows them to reflect on the memories. Let me say this, I had a lot of fun on this layout. However, it seem very plain (not clean and simple) to me. It seems like it is missing something. Anywho, spread the love of memories this year, Krafthead~

Day 12: OCTC

Hey Krafters~

Welcome to day 12! We have less than two weeks before Christmas! I am doing the happy dance for sure. I love Christmas because no matter how things are going in life, something miraculous always happens. What I mean is, situations for me just don't seem as bad. This time of year lift my spirits.

Happy Wednesday Krafters~
Welcome to day seven of Operation Countdown to Christmas! Today, I am here to share a project that was inspired by MyButterflykisses. I came across her project and I knew immediately that I had to make one. I made mine a little differently, than she did, but the idea is the same. I think it is my favorite project made to date! It turned out better than I could ever imagine! The best thing about this project is that I already had everything I needed! No additional cost J

Day 6- Operation Countdown to Christmas

Hello Krafters,

Happy Monday Krafters!
Krafthead here to share a home décor idea. I made this for my DH for his prayer room. The frame I altered he said it was too “girly”! Anywho, this was inspired by a large poster I saw naming all of the names that Christ is called.
I took plain white cardstock and wet it with homemade glimmer mist. While it was still wet, I crumpled up the cardstock to further distress it. For the edges, I used walnut stain distress ink as well as Close to Cocoa and a little Black Soot.
As the cardstock dried, I typed out the many names of Christ on transparencies. Put it all together (in the altered frame) and it made a inexpensive home décor item!
Thanks for stopping by for day six of the Operation Countdown to Christmas. Krafthead~

Hey Krafters,
Its Krafthead here! For day two, I would like to share a card I made for the Second Annual Cricut Forum Holiday Card Challenge hosted by yours truly over at scrapbook.com. We had such a good time! This year the majority of the cards I made have a bell. I have no idea why I am stuck on bells LOL. Anywho, I used the Santa’s Village Imagine Cartridge for this card. At the time, my Imagine was cutting kinda wonky, but I think the card turned out cute!
