Hi Krafters,
It has been a while since I posted so I put this card together. It just so happen to be one of my daughter's teacher's birthday too. She really liked it!
For this card, I used some Colorbok paper I had in my stash. I have had this paper for a LONG time! I am trying to use what I have. I fussy cut the flower and the scallops from the collection. The typewriter stamp is from Cloud Nine and the sentiment is Paper Studio.
It is a very simple card, but I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Ornante Birthday
Good Morning Krafters!
I am here to share another birthday card. The last few cards
I really let myself go. I guess you can say I found my nitch or my “style”. I am
not sure what you would call it, but I love it! It is a bit weird, funky and
different. I think I make my cards
according to the mood I’m in.
Anywho, when I make a card for someone, I try to incorporate
something that reflects them. The recipient of the card loves to make jewelry. So
I added things that she can take off when she is ready to throw the card away
(if she decides to). I used a few charms and crystals I had in my stash. For the
shoe charm and jump rings, I altered the color by using Bronze Perfect Pearls
and some gold leaf paint I had in my stash. The pin I colored the top and
spacers with a Copic Marker (I love to use Copics to change colors on all types
of things…awesome product and so worth the money!) and added a few crystals.
So much went into this card. I have been hoarding these
ornate TH plates for months. I finally decided I wanted to use one on this
card. I also had some extra doily cuts that I have been experimenting with. So
this card was built around these things. I used Metallic Tarnish Brass Crackle
Paint on them; once dried, I applied Walnut Stain Distress Ink (my fave) on it
to enhance the cracks and dull down the shininess. I took a scrap piece of
kraft cardstock and ran it through my corrugate thingy (what is the name of
that thing anyway??) made by Fiskars to make it look like corrugated cardboard.
To finish off the card and make it a little more feminine, I
added lace, cameo and flowers. The flowers were colored with Suede Glimmer
Mist. That is that! I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping
by. Have a great day, Krafthead~

Violin Birthday~
Happy Friday Krafters~
TGIF!! Today, I am sharing a birthday card for my SIL. She turned 18 on the 21st and she is a very accomplished violinist. I never used the Quarter Note cartridge. So I thought her love for the violin and her birthday was a perfect union for this card.
The base is white Bazzill (standard A2 size) distressed with Walnut Distress Ink. I used the Imagine More Imagine Cartridge for the pattern paper cut at 4x5.25”. The brown layer is Core’dinations Chocolate Lovers.
I used a labels Nestability for the background and the violin is cut at 3” from the Quarter Note Cricut Cartridge. I also stamped a ticket from an Inkadinkado stamp set. The sentiment comes from Close to My Heart which was stamped with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink. I then embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. The flowers are I Am Roses and some other flowers I purchased from Karlas001 etsy store a little while back. I also had a pearl strand I purchased from Karla in my stash. The butterfly is a charm that was also in my stash.
To give the card a little shimmer, I sprayed it with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Have a great weekend and “see” you all on Monday for another project, Krafthead~

Marla Tile
Hello Krafters!
January is full of birthdays of friends and family of mine! My Pastor’s birthday was this weekend and I would like to share a gift I made for her using vinyl. It is a simple 4x4 tile that was personalized just for her! She really liked it and it goes with her office perfectly! My Pastor (her husband) says he wants one LOL.
I bought the tile on clearance from Menard’s (home improvement store here in Wisconsin). It comes in a package of eight tiles. I used my gypsy to design various phrases that represent the many hats she wear. While the Cricut was busy cutting the vinyl, I used brown Momento Ink to stamp an image on the tile. Once the ink dried, I applied the vinyl to the tile and sealed it with acrylic sealer (glossy).
NOTE: The tile does not have to be sealed unless used as a coaster. If you use StazOn, it does not need to be sealed.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and simple yet meaningful project! It only takes minutes to put together from start to finish. Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Guest Designer-Exploring Cricut
Happy Monday Krafters!
I am so happy to share this project with you all! Today I am a guest designer for Exploring Cricut; WOOOHOOO! What an honor and a privilege! I would like to thank Diane for allowing me to be featured on her blog!
The theme for week at Exploring Cricut is birthday. The challenge was to use blue, white, green, red and yellow only! I have to admit, it was a challenge. Since my cousin’s birthday is coming up, I thought a gearing this card for her would be right on!
This project made me laugh because every “birthday” themed pattern paper I had included orange! BUT my Imagine came to the rescue J I printed the patterns from Blast Off, Hopscotch and Kate’s Kitchen. As the patterns were printing, I used Cricut Craft Room to design cuts for the card. I used Craft Room Basics for the oval. The ovals were embossed using the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The cupcake, balloons, hat and swirly was cut from the Celebrations cartridge. The banner was cut using Girl’s Make-up Party.
On the cupcake, I used white Puffy Paint. Once dried, I added a little bling for the sprinkles. I also added Puffy Paint to the bottom of the party hat and used a pom-pom for the top.
To finish the outside of the card, I used twine to “tie” the balloons together. The sentiment was handwritten and a button was added (to cover up a booboo lol). A little faux stitching was just what this card needed.
In the inside (not pictured) I added a little more of the pattern paper and a few cuts.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Again, thank you for stopping by. Please stop by Exploring Cricut and follow along with the challenge. Be encouraged, Krafthead~

Happy Birthday SSSCT Project
Hello Krafters!
I am here to share a Creative Team project over at Scrappin’ with Sharon and Smokey. The files I used are SO versatile! Let me tell y’all, they cut really well too. I really like how this turned out!
This is a standard A2 sized card. I trimmed a little of the edge back so I can add a decorative edge using RM00145. This was cut at .75” x 5”.
Still using that RM00145 file, I made this beautiful decorative rosette! I cut it at 1.25” by 10.75”. I used the Martha Stewart Score Board and scored the border every .25”.
While scoring the rosette, I used file RM00148 to make the frame. The frame and the frame base were both cut at 2”x2.5”. As you can see, the frame is very detailed! It cut nicely considering how small some of the design is!
Once everything was cut and assembled, I added a few embellishments and the sentiment. Easy peasy! Files can be fun and you can use your imagination to make them your own. I hope you like today’s project. Please check out the store to get information about these files and others. The store is updated regularly. Also check out the new Yahoo Group Forum. Krafthead~

10 Minutes or Less Birthday Card~
Hey Krafters!
This past weekend, I put myself on a challenge. My cousin turned one on Saturday and I did not make her a card! I literally had 15 minutes before I had to be out of the door. I remembered on the invitation, there was a cupcake. With only that design element in mind, this is what I came up with! I even had a couple minutes to spare ;-)
I used the Yummy Imagine cartridge for the pattern papers and the cupcake. In the banner I stamped her name in the circles using Studio G stamps from Michael’s dollar spot. If I had more time, I would have done something different. However, I think it turned out well….even with all of the business of the patterns. Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Hello Krafters!
I am here to share a quick card I made for my Pastor. He is a Pittsburg Steelers fan (smh) so I thought I would have a little fun with it. The card is really straight forward. I used MTC to make this card. On the inside, I used my Cuttlebug die and the matching embossing to make an area for the sentiment.

Ice Cream Lovers~
Hello Krafters!
It’s me again coming to share a quick card I made for an ice cream lover. I used the Yummy Imagine Cartridge for the image as well as the pattern papers. The polka dot paper was cut out with the labels sixteen. For the sundae, I used a combination of Stickles and Glossy Accents. To finish it off, I used the Martha Stewart lace punch, ribbon and a Making Memories metal sentiments tag. I also inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. That’s it!
A simple card that looks good enough to it eat J Thanks for stopping by….

Hello Kitty!
Happy Monday Krafters!
Hope everyone had a good and productive weekend! I was really busy! My second oldest turned five years old Saturday so we had a very small party for her. The weather was beautiful by the way LOL. I have to admit, I like hello Kitty as well, but I can stand to wait until the next time I see anything Hello Kitty LOL.!
I made the cake (from scratch and the frosting-love to bake, not a master at it…yet). After months of waiting, I finally pulled out the Cricut Cake Machine to help decorate my baby’s cake. Now I have to confess, it really isn’t as easy as the advertisements made it out to be. I am sure some of it was user error since it was my first attempt. However, you would think it would be pretty cut (no pun intended) and dry..right? WRONG! I used the frosting sheets for the cuts (Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge-silhouette feature). Just to cut out the design at 4.25”, I wasted approximately 2.5 sheets of frosting (3 comes in a pack). The machine ripped the poor frosting sheets to shreds. After much discouragement, frustration and adjustments, I used a less intricate design (really wasn’t that detailed, but whatever) and it cut out nicely.
Then I attempted to cut out the wording…..letters were cut at 1” using the Hello Kitty Font Cartridge. If I had to do all over again, I would have used the round letter feature on this cartridge instead because it cut out better. I learned this after the fact. The font I used I had to have a pressure of 3 and a speed of two for the best cut. Even with that, it did not cut out the y well. It took several attempts until I just scored it and cut the outline with a knife. Once I had all of the die cuts on the cake, I added a design to the cake using my star decorating cake tip. I also added pink gel to the bow. The cake didn’t turn out how I imagined it, but my daughter was happy with it J
Now that I have a feel for the machine and with more practice, I think the red machine and I will get along just nicely. I have plenty of ideas and opportunities (I have four children) to use the machine to the max.
I will bore you any further; here is the finished product (my first attempt):
Materials:
Cricut Cake Machine
Hello Kitty Font Cartridge
Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge
Frosting Sheets (chocolate brown and primary colors)
Wilton’s Sparkling Gel (pink)
Pastry Tube with #6 tip
