June Follower Corner-Favor8Favors and a Sneak Peek

Hello Krafters!

Have you ever met someone and you instantly clicked? My sister Kelly is that someone! I have not met her in person, but she is very dear to me! I met her about two years ago in the Jesus Girlz group on sb.com and she has been such a good friend to me ever since. I actually consider her more than a friend, she is my sister! We have so much in common it is crazy…if I had a biological sister, she would be it! Seriously!

A few weeks ago, I sent her a RAK and I guess we were thinking the same because she sent me a RAK at the same time! I took pictures of the goodies, but of course they did not come out well. The goodies contained papers, flowers, chipboard pieces, lace, and digi stamps…you will find out more about the digi stamps REAL soon!!! The funny thing is our packages contained similar items LOL.

Here is a simple project I made using one of the images she sent me! Again, I can’t say too much right now, but this is a sneak peek….isn’t this image AWESOME!! OH yea, I know y’all are feeling it J Stay tuned!! I did not do the image justice...trust me!

Although we have not met face to face per say, I am happy that she is a part of my life! Go check out my talented sister over at Favor8Favors! Krafthead~

Nature's Beauty

Hello All!

I was in an ATC swap at sb.com. For this swap, we had to make three ATCs that had to include a bird and or a butterfly. I decided to include both on mine. I used a Poppy Stamp die for the birdcage. The birds and butterfly cameos came from my stash. I colored them with some acrylic paint to go with the 7 Gypsies Conservatory Paper collection. Not pictured, but I also used a stamp from that same collection on the back.

That is it! I had so much fun putting these together! Thank you all so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

Pigtailed Princess

Good Day Krafters!

I recently participated in the “Lift the Person Before You Challenge” on the sb.com forum. I like joining challenges from time to time just to keep the creative juices flowing. You can see the original layout here.

For this project, I used the Bo Bunny Little Miss Collection. That collection is truly divine! I had a hard time choosing papers to use. I decided to use two pieces, and use the front and back. It is too beautiful to waste!

The little girl in the photo is my oldest daughter when she was about 10 months old. I still cannot believe how fast time flies!

Whelp that is it! I thank the hostess for hosting the challenge and I thank Speppers1 for the original project! I had a fun time putting this together and I hope that you enjoyed looking at it! Trust me, you will be seeing this beautiful paper again! Thank you so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

Happy To Be Your Boy

Hello Krafters!

Today is the last day of the Father's Day dedication week. I am sharing a VERY simple Father’s Day card I made for DH to give to his dad. When I saw this stamp with the handshake, I thought of my FIL so I had to use it. My father-in-law is as simple as they come! He is not a very sentimental guy at all. I did not want to over embellish or put too much into it. Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Golfer Style!

Hi Krafters!

Did you know PC provided free files for Father’s Day in CCR? I am not sure if they will still be free by the time this posts, but it was really nice of them J I decided to use one of these files for a quick card. My pastor is a golfer (who knew) and so this image was perfect for him! It took less than 10 minutes to put together. As the image was cutting on the Cricut, I was cutting out the frame using my Grand Calibur. I painted the shape with black Gesso and let it dry. Once it was dry, I rubbed some Inka Gold over it. I embossed the mat with an embossing folder and wrapped twine around it. I added the image to the frame. Viola, instant card!

Thank you all so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

**You could always cut the sentiment off and make it into a birthday card!

Best Dad Ever!

Happy Monday Krafters!

This week will be dedicated to all of the dads out there! It takes a special man to be a dad. A dad is a man who provides, protects and spends time with his children. He supports them and encourages. I am happy that my children have a dad who is all of these things.

Today, I am sharing the card I made for DH. It was really fun to put together. The base is kraft card stock. I layered another piece of kraft cardstock which was corrugated. On top of that layer, I took a piece of pattern paper from the Time Piece Stack by DCWV. Then I used some of the TH tissue tape, ticket, added burlap, and some of the gears by Spellbinders.  I fussy cut the Polaroid from the same collection and also fussy cut the post card stamp. I embossed the sentiment and that is it!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Recessed Graduation Card

Hello Krafters!

Today I am sharing a graduation card I made for my SIL. Her school colors were red and white. I wanted to stay with that color scheme. They pattern paper inside the frame is from the High school Stack by DCWV.

Front of the card:

Since I did not have the right pattern paper for this project, I decided to make my own for the front of the card. I took a graduation cap stamp and randomly stamp it on some solid card stock using Versa Mark. I used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Embossing Powder. I love how this embossing powder leaves a nice shimmer on the cardstock. It almost makes it look like pearlized cardstock!  I took my ticket stub punch and used that one the edge of the pattern paper.

The frame was cut from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge.  I wanted to add texture to the frame because it was too plain. I embossed that with the African Batik embossing folder. The layer was placed on pop dots for dimension and for the “recessing”. For the diploma, I simply rolled a piece of scrap cardstock. The graduation cap was cut from the Wrap It Up cartridge (I think). Instead of using the tassel from the actual cut, I made my own from floss. The tassel is secured with a brad which was colored with Smooch. I stamped the sentiment with Stampin’ Up ink and added pearls using a red Viva Décor Pen.

The inside:

I took the same pattern paper from the recessed portion of the card and used the same punch I used on the front. It was layered with a piece of cardstock for the sentiment. The sentiment layer is also acts as a pocket for her monetary gift.

That is it! I wanted to keep this card simple and easy to make. I hope you all enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Repetitive? Handmade Flower..

Hello Krafters!

As I was looking through my photos of projects that I have shared on my blog, it dawned on me that it has been a LONG time since I made my own flowers! I guess I have been spoiled J I also realized that my projects were starting to look repetitive to me. So I pulled out my hoarded lace and got to work!

Today, I am sharing an altered box I made using my handmade flower…it reminds me of the Prima flowers! Anywho, I really like how it turned out! On the flower, I used a broach that I bought on clearance. I felt they would be great together! I layered the flower on pearl strings and a feather. I made a stick pin to finish off the flower.

Although I have shared several altered projects, I believe this one does not look repetitive! I think I achieved my goal of the day! J

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! I hope the person who received this likes it as much as I did! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

True Love

Hello Krafters!
Many of us Krafters love to use EVERYTHING! I printed a photo of my friend and her hubby in B&W when I was doing the tile for them. I scrapped my original idea for a card and decided to use this photo of them for a true personalized card. I love how the photo crinkled because it makes the picture look aged!

Short and sweet J I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Have a good day, Krafthead~

It's Your Anniversary!

Hello Krafters!

Spring/summer is known as Wedding Season! My girlfriend celebrated her one year wedding anniversary in May. I am so proud of how much she has grown and matured during this year as a wife. As a gift, I wanted to make them something special. I asked for ideas on a forum and Gina linked a picture of a tile her friend Tracy did. I have done my fair share of tiles, but nothing like this! I was instantly drawn to it and decided that was the perfect gift! So this project was lifted from Tracy.

This is a 6.5”x6.5” tile I purchased at a home improvement store. I printed a picture of them on their wedding day (it is my favorite) on tissue paper. I decided to use a color photo because it popped more off of the tile. I cut the letters in vinyl using my Cameo. I used Mod Podge to adhere the photo and to seal the tile. Once it was dry, I tied some tulle around the tile and glued on a curly rose from I Am Roses along with a spray I had in my stash.

So they can showcase their tile, I put together an easel which is a Silhouette Studio file. I could not believe how easy it is to put together AND how sturdy it is! A tile is NOT light! One of the best purchases to date J

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! It was fun to make! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Backpack Treat Boxes

Hi Krafters!

The end of the school year is drawing near. Some children are already out! Here is a random project I made that I did not share during Teacher’s Appreciation week. These are some really simple backpack treat bags I made for the girls’ teachers. It is always nice to discover or remember a cut on a cartridge isn’t it! These are found on the Sesame Street Seasons cart. They are labeled as a puzzle box, but it reminded me of a backpackJ. They were a hit with the staff too!

I hope you back and rediscover forgotten cuts on your cartridges as well. You never know what you will find! Thank you for stopping by, Krafthead~

Expo 2012

What’s going down Krafters?

On the 20th of April, I attended my very first Expo…and really my first scrapbooking event EVER! I registered for a Teresa Collins Workshop which was kinda fun too. So I wanted to share some of the goodies I purchased while at the Expo as well as the mini I worked on in the Workshop. I am looking forward to the next one...when or if they come back in my area!

Check out the video for more details on what was purchased! There were some awesome finds here!

Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday and Happy June Krafters!

I am wrapping up the last project of NSBD! The final challenge was to complete a layout using a provided sketch. At first I was not going to do this challenge, but at the last minute I figured I would since I did all of the others. So this is what I did. I will be redoing this one in the future because it has potential. That is the beauty of digi layouts J

Have a great weekend everyone! Krafthead~
