Preppy!

Hi there Krafters!
I am really trying to use every product that I have at least once. I finally pulled out my Fiskars crimp tool! Here is another simple card for Father’s Day.
For the base, I used Paper Trey Ink Kraft paper. I also used that cardstock in place of ribbon and to mat the stamped image. I used the DCWV Guy Stack for the pattern paper. The patterned paper is matted on DCWV plain cardstock. This card, I wanted to do something out of the norm since I did use my unloved crimp tool LOL. I stamped the diamond pattern with Antique Linen ink on the kraft cardstock. I took Stampin’ Up’s Close to Cocoa to distress the edges of each layer and also used this color to stamp the sentiment. I put faux stitching on all of the kraft pieces. To finish off the card, I added to buttons and floss….
Thanks for looking!

Who Wear the Pants?

Happy Tuesday Krafters!
Ok, so the card I am going to share was inspired by my puppy. I left my favorite pair of boots and he got a hold of themL. As a “krafter” I try to refurbish as much as possible. On my boots it had buckles. I knew I wanted to do something with them; I just had no idea what or when. Since the men are being honored this week, I thought that I would make a card incorporating the belt buckle. I had no real man in my life when I made this card, but I knew I wanted it to be a Father’s Day card.
For this card, I used the DCWV Ultimate Stack for the denim pattern. I used the Distress-it-All to distress the edges. I loved how it turned out especially since it is to replicate jeans. I made a belt using the buckle my dog chewed off my boot LOL. On the belt, used brad and eyelets to make the belt look realistic. I wanted to do some embossing, but I really didn’t want to make it look feminine (you know what I mean?).  Anywho, I cut slits in the paper to look like loops on a pair of jeans. I added a little faux stitching on the loops to look like seams. Finally, I took a little White Wash Core’dinations cardstock and ripped it to look like a distressed patch and stamped the sentiment. I added really stitching to the patch to give it a more realistic look. That’s it! Thanks for looking J

To The Men.....

Hello Krafters!

Father's Day is June 19... Are you ready? This week I want to give honor to all of the wonderful dads, husbands and boyfriends out there.  I have such a wonderful husband! I had him in mind when I made this card. As you may or may not know, we have four daughters. He is great with them and I had to include them on the card.

My husband is easy to please. So I did a pretty simple card. The card is a standard A2 sized card (4.25x5.5"). The base is Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock. I took regular white cardstock, and embossed it with the diamond embossing folder. I then distressed it using the Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink. The patterned paper is from the DCWV Guy stack. I cut the patterned paper with Spellbinders Label 18 Nestabilities along with a piece of white which was also distressed with that same distress ink. I stamped the image and sentiment with Stampin' Up's Creamy Caramel ink. I tied floss around the card and did faux stitching for the finished look. Thanks for looking!

Thinking of You!

Happy Monday Krafters!
There seems to be some issues uploading projects to the Blog L However, I used that as an opportunity to work on a couple projects J
Today I want to share a card I made for a co-worker. I was told that his wife is gravely ill and I wanted to make him something just to let him know he and his family are in my prayers. As known, I don’t make a lot of masculine projects, but I am learning how.
For this card, I used the DCWV Guy Stack. The blue cardstock is also by DCWV which I bought by the sheet since I don’t have the coordinating pack for the pattern paper. I used the Script Cuttlebug embossing folder to add interest and texture to the card.  I cut the shapes using the Spellbinder Nestibilities Labels 13. I inked the edges of all the pieces. I layered each of the shapes, tied embroidery floss (since I don’t have twine) and used a rubber stamp for the sentiment. Simple!
