Announcement!!!!!

Hello Krafters!

Today, I do not have a project to share. However, I have some exciting news to share with all of you.  About a month ago, I applied for scrapbookpal’s design team. Well, I was NOT one of the chosen L BUT another door opened J

I am PROUD to announce that I am now a member of BossKut’s (Gazelle) new design team! Words cannot even begin to tell you how exciting this is! As a result of my new venture, I started a new blog. I will continue to share projects on this blog as normal.  However, out of respect for BossKut and because this blog is now technically a conflict of interest, I will share projects I make using the Gazelle there.

I do hope you will continue to follow me here, but join me over there on my new blog as well; even if you don’t own a Gazelle or 3rd Party Software. Come for the quirkiness and inspiration! Also, BossKut offers more than the Gazelle, but they also sell stamps, cut files, dies, Copics, papers and much more! So there is something for everyone J It is all good, right?

As always, I thank you all for stopping by. I hope to see you on the other side J Krafthead~

Ornante Birthday

Good Morning Krafters!
I am here to share another birthday card. The last few cards I really let myself go. I guess you can say I found my nitch or my “style”. I am not sure what you would call it, but I love it! It is a bit weird, funky and different.  I think I make my cards according to the mood I’m in.
Anywho, when I make a card for someone, I try to incorporate something that reflects them. The recipient of the card loves to make jewelry. So I added things that she can take off when she is ready to throw the card away (if she decides to). I used a few charms and crystals I had in my stash. For the shoe charm and jump rings, I altered the color by using Bronze Perfect Pearls and some gold leaf paint I had in my stash. The pin I colored the top and spacers with a Copic Marker (I love to use Copics to change colors on all types of things…awesome product and so worth the money!) and added a few crystals.
So much went into this card. I have been hoarding these ornate TH plates for months. I finally decided I wanted to use one on this card. I also had some extra doily cuts that I have been experimenting with. So this card was built around these things. I used Metallic Tarnish Brass Crackle Paint on them; once dried, I applied Walnut Stain Distress Ink (my fave) on it to enhance the cracks and dull down the shininess. I took a scrap piece of kraft cardstock and ran it through my corrugate thingy (what is the name of that thing anyway??) made by Fiskars to make it look like corrugated cardboard.
To finish off the card and make it a little more feminine, I added lace, cameo and flowers. The flowers were colored with Suede Glimmer Mist. That is that! I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day, Krafthead~

Violin Birthday~

Happy Friday Krafters~
TGIF!! Today, I am sharing a birthday card for my SIL. She turned 18 on the 21st and she is a very accomplished violinist. I never used the Quarter Note cartridge. So I thought her love for the violin and her birthday was a perfect union for this card.
The base is white Bazzill (standard A2 size) distressed with Walnut Distress Ink. I used the Imagine More Imagine Cartridge for the pattern paper cut at 4x5.25”. The brown layer is Core’dinations Chocolate Lovers.
I used a labels Nestability for the background and the violin is cut at 3” from the Quarter Note Cricut Cartridge. I also stamped a ticket from an Inkadinkado stamp set. The sentiment comes from Close to My Heart which was stamped with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink. I then embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. The flowers are I Am Roses and some other flowers I purchased from Karlas001 etsy store a little while back. I also had a pearl strand I purchased from Karla in my stash. The butterfly is a charm that was also in my stash.
To give the card a little shimmer, I sprayed it with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Have a great weekend and “see” you all on Monday for another project, Krafthead~

17 Years~

Hi Krafters!
It has been a very long week and it is not even over yet LOL! My friend and her husband recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. They met in college. They were just friends, but the husband was in a bad car accident. He had to leave school, and for a short time they kept in touch by writing letter. Eventually the letters stopped. A few years went by and my friend found out they he had married. She became engaged. More years went by and they ended up being in a wedding party together. By that time, her engagement was called off and he just finalized his divorce. Long story short, they are married a short time later and now have three beautiful children!
I thought this was the perfect card for them! It is not too feminine, but not too masculine either. I am in love with the Picot Edge Die so I find I am using it on almost everything I can LOL! I had to use it! This card was inspired by the Love Notes stamp. It went well with the postage stamp cut from the Sentiment Cricut Cartridge. I also knew I wanted to incorporate the numbers pattern on the TC B&W Imagine Cartridge.  I added a Pendant to emphasize the number 17 on the pattern…this is probably one of my favorite projects to date!
I hope you all enjoyed today’s project. As always, thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

All Star~

Happy Monday Krafters!
I am sharing the simplest layout I had ever done! I simply used white Bazzill and sprayed homemade red glimmer mist. I added a strip of pattern paper from the DCWV 2010 Ultimate Stack to add a little interest to the layout. The stars were cut on the Cricut using George; Core’dinations cardstock was used and distressed. I used one of the stars as a journaling spot. I cut the title from the Sports Mania cartridge. Easy peasy!

As I continue scrapbooking my photos, I am learning that a simple layout can tell a story behind the photo just as well as one with many embellishments. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you all for stopping by, Krafthead~

Please Call~

Happy Thursday Krafters!
Today, I would like to share a layout with you all. On scrapbook.com, I belong to the group Jesus Girlz. On the forum one of the sisters, Kathy, shared a list of scriptures that will help with a number of issues we face regularly. Another sister, Lissa, made a beautiful layout using the provided scriptures. So this layout was inspired and lifted from them!
I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~
