Happy Memorial Day Krafters!
Today is special to me because it is not only the unofficial start of summer, but it is time to reflect on the men and women who served our country. I was in the Army and enjoyed my time serving. I went on to the Reserves and was honorably discharged a few years ago. I honestly can say, I was in the best physical shape of my life and I learned a lot about myself during boot camp and AIT training. So to the men and women who served past, present and future, THANK YOU!
Ok, first off I have to admit, I am not a scrapbooker! However, I wanted to share a quick layout I did in honor of today. I decided to scrap my military id.
This is a 12x12 layout. The background paper is from the DCWV line Trade Winds. I also used a pattern from the Old World Stack and Making Memories, Just Chillin’ paper stack. I know I took a risk with the pp choices because they are from different lines and manufactures. The good thing is there are no rules to scrapbooking J. Anywho, I wanted to have camo paper because I was in my BDUs when I took the photo. I also wanted red, white and blue on the layout.
I cut the shapes from the Label 1 Nestibilities. I also stamped the stars on acetate and colored the images in with Smooch. Using the Hello Kitty cartridge, the title is also made from acetate colored with alcohol ink. Finally I made the flowers and added the Army seal to the middle.
