Thank You-Practical Scrappers-Kraft

Hello Krafters!

Today over at Practical Scrapper it is all about that Kraft paper!! Kraft paper is one of my favorite papers to use! My favorite brand is Paper Trey Ink followed by Stampin’ Up (crumb cake). I like to print patterns on it, emboss it and grunge it up! It can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’!

This project is pretty straight forward. I used the Teresa Collins Black and White cartridge for the pattern. The embossing was done with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Both were layered on top of black cardstock. On a scrap piece of Kraft cardstock, I used a Cherry Lynn dies for the flourish.

I added a few more touches to finish off the card, and that was it!
Don’t forget to go over to Practical Scrappers to show the DT some love! Thank you so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

10 Minutes or Less Birthday Card SOC DT Project

Hello Krafters,

January for me is full of birthdays! MLK’s birthday is this month, several family members and my hubby’s! Today I want to share the birthday card I made for hubby.

Anyone who knows me knows I like to do 10 minute or less cards. For those who don’t, about a year ago, I challenged myself to this because I was spending too much time on one card AND I needed a card in a hurry! This “challenge” has been a blessing really!

On this card, I used two patterns from the Bo Bunny Snowfall 6x6 paper collection. I also used a scrap piece of Vintage Cream Paper Trey Ink cardstock to stamp the sentiment and as a shadow to the banner. I colored white brads and clear buttons with Copic Markers to match the colors in the pattern paper. I love to do this because Copics are an alcohol based marker and it is permanent! So if you can’t find the exact color, try using a marker!

I hope you like and will try out a 10 minute or less card on your own. You may be pleasantly surprised with the results! Please stop by Scraps of Color Espire to check out the talented design team projects! Thank you so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

Tags, Tags, TAGS!!

Hey Krafters!

Today over at Practical Scrappers it is all about tags! Tags are so versatile! They can be used for journaling, add a little something to a background or do what I love to do, ALTER them!! Before I go on to the project, stop by Practical Scrappers to see how our talented design team used tags! You are in for a treat!

My husband works in a factory and from time to time, he will have a shipping tag. On the tag, there was some writing. I used white Gesso to cover up the shipping verbiage. Once the Gesso was dried, I used Distress Stains, sprays and inks and stamps for the background.  I fussy cut the image from G45’s A Ladies Diary. I also used a gardenia from Stamping Scrapping. I added three layers of lace and two rows of pearls.

I could have added more flowers and charms. However, I really wanted to keep this project simple and not over embellished.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project!  Don’t forget to pop over to Practical Scrappers! Thank you so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

FAITH

Happy Monday Krafters!

At the beginning of the month, Treva over at Treva Craft Corner shared on her post that her word for the year was RENEW! While leaving love, I pondered about what mine would be. I have a lot of moments in my life where FAITH played an intricate factor. I am currently going through something where FAITH is the only way I am going to get through it. FAITH is the word I will be standing on this year and throughout the rest of my life!

Oddly enough, about seven years ago, the Dollar Store was selling raw wood words. It just so happen to be FAITH! I always vowed I would stain it so it could be added to the living room décor. Somehow, it was placed in a box in the basement and forgotten about. About a month or so ago, I was looking for something and stumbled across this word block. I never altered a full word, just letters so I sat it aside. After reading Treva’s blog post, I decided to tackle this word FAITH!

I really like how it turned out and I have a constant reminder to have FAITH. Walk by faith and not by sight! No matter what the circumstances look like, I have to believe that God will bring me through it and that can only be done through having the faith to believe! I must stand on the Word!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thank you for stopping by and leaving love. Krafthead~

Practical Scrappers-Felt

Hello Krafters!

Here is the first project in my second term as a PracticalScrapper! Today’s assignment was to use felt. Please go over to Practical Scrappers and see all of the awesome projects from the talented DT!

I actually love to use felt, but I typically use it to make flowers. For this project I wanted to think outside of that. So after much consideration, I pulled out my dies and decided on a simple snowman card. I also hand cut the snow under the snowman, scarf, hat, arms and nose. I also used my Peachy Keen stamps for his cute little face. I did the stamping with Staz-On Ink…worked better than I had hoped.

The background paper was sprayed with Glimmer Mist and embossed with a snowflake embossing folder. I also colored the snow bank with the same color.

To finish the card off, I used some pearls as his buttons, and stamped a sentiment. I double mat the card to bring out the red in his scarf and hat! That is it!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed it! Do not forget to drop by PS for more inspiration! Krafthead~

2013 Calendars

Hi Krafters!

Last year, I made a goal to share projects at least three days a week; typically Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. For the most part, I met my goal. However, I found I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself. Since this is a new dawn and a new day, I will share projects as they are completed. This way I will not have more pressure and I won’t let you all down by missing the mark!

I am so excited to share the first projects of the year! For some of the ladies in my congregation, I decided to make a few calendars. I made a total of 10 of them. Of course I was rushing and did not take proper photos. I did manage to take a couple with my cell phone. The quality is not the greatest, but hey, I still want to share :D

The calendars measure 4x4. I printed the calendar from Publisher (love that program). I covered the chipboard with some Pink Paislee paper that was in a magazine I purchased a while ago (I think it was a promotional pack…pretty papers). I fussy cut some of the images from the papers and added a few embellishments and was done! Easy and fast!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project, Thank you all so much for stopping by. Krafthead~

I Am Continuing On

Happy January 1st 2013 Krafters!

Yesterday marked the end of my six month term with PracticalScrappers. It was so much fun being a part of an extremely talented team. The ladies are amazing…and there was a lot of pressure to measure up to their caliber!

I am happy to announce that I will continue to be a DT member for another term! I am so excited! I hope I did not disappoint the first time around and I will not this go around! Things are a little different this time. There are three groups (Special Teams, Ten Things and On Trend) I am part of the Ten Things group.

Please stop by Practical Scrappers and show some love to your girl and to the other designers! Krafthead~
