Jazzy Purse-The Lost Files

Hello Krafters!

I was in the process of cleaning out files and found a project I did not share. My daughter’s class was doing a gift exchange and it so happened she picked one of her friends. Since it was a girl, we decided to make her a cute purse to house her lip gloss, finger nail polish and other goodies.

I used one of the files from the Silhouette store. The pattern paper is from Authentique, but I do not remember the name of the collection right now. I love the pattern and the colors of it and it is double sided. I decided to use Kraft cardstock since it blended with the colors in the collection. Putting the purse together was a little tricky putting together especially around the curves. I suggest using a forgiving liquid glue.

The purse is small, but it is sturdy and can hold a lot of items. My daughter’s friend/classmate really liked it and I hope you did as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

She's A Sassy Lady 85 and Alive!

Hello Beautiful People!

It is my day over at She’s A Sassy Lady! Today’s project is kind of special to me. A fellow crafter’s grandmother is turning 85 this month and she asked for help to make her grandmother’s day special. Her goal is to receive 85 cards from all over the United States and present them to her at her birthday party. When I read this request, I knew I had to be a part of it.

I have to admit, I learned something about myself while constructing this card. I have a difficult time making a card for someone I don’t know personally! I failed to ask what her favorite colors are as well as her interests. Personally, I like to know something about them to be inspired and incorporate those things into the card. Having a clean slate, I just went for it.

I used the Roman Novel pattern paper by Prima. This collection has beautiful colors and has a lot of images which can be fussy cut. I cut two images from the collection and mounted them on a doily I found in my stash. Because the doily was white, I changed the color using Walnut Stain Distress ink. I also used a bingo piece. I toned down the red by adding a pearl paint to it. I also added a few flowers and bling to the card. To put my signature on the card, I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Simple yet pretty in my opinion! Do you think she will like it? Thank you so much for stopping by. Don’t forget to pop over to She’s A Sassy Lady to check out more inspiration! Krafthead~
