Happy Tuesday!!! Today over at the Practical Scrappers blog, we are giving you all fresh ideas on how to use those corner punches! Corner punches can be used on more than just corners! Drop by the blog to check out how the other DT members used corner punches on their projects.
I decided to use my corner punch to make "metal corners" on this balsa box. This technique was inspired by Cynthialoowhoo on YouTube. I put my own spin on it to make it work for my needs.
To make the corners I cut the cardstock down to 2"x2". I cut the square in half on the diagonally. Then I punched the remaining half. Next I put my corner on the box and made a crease to score a crisp line. Finally, it is ready to be added to the box. Remember, you can distress it or add paint to make the corner look more like metal.
Since this paper is so pretty...(thank you Kelli (my Sister) for the RAK) I did not want to cover it too much. I added a few flowers; the larger flower I used the same metallic gold paint to the tips as I used on the box and the doily.
That is it! Again, do not forget to stop over by the Practical Scrappers blog to check out the other projects! Thanks again Kelli for this beautiful paper!! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~
