Altenew Sympathy Card

Hello Krafters,

My mother is very special to me. However, she is a last minute person. Today’s project is a last minute request as she was waiting for her ride to go out of town. Her spiritual mother’s grandmother passed away. She lived to be 109 years old! My mom attended the funeral which was out of town. While waiting, she said, “Oh no, I forgot to get a card!” I gave her that really look. Then she went on to ask if I could make one.

This is a non traditional sympathy card color scheme. I really wanted to use the Altenew Vintage Rose stamp set. I have the Lawn Fawn Lobster, Rose, and Cranberry inks. It just so happened, I was using cranberry card stock on a previous project so it worked out. I used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitch Dies to cut the mat. I had to fussy cut the roses and leaves since I do not have the dies yet. I added a little clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I stamped the sentiment in the LF cranberry ink.For some reason, I like to add butterflies to sympathy cards. I think it reminds me of the circle of life in some way and the beauty of it. Anywho, I added the butterfly which was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added pearls to the body as well as to the top of the card to finish it off.

Although it is not pictured, I repeated the same on the inside of the card to tie it all together.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello Krafters!

Today I am sharing a very simple sympathy card I made for a lady I adore at my local place of worship. I have adopted her as my mom. Anywho, her sister died last week. She has been battling with illness for quite some time. Although this time is somber for us, we are celebrating in knowing that she is home. BTW, I took the picture with my cell phone...one day I am going to learn!

The base was dry embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then layered two sets of Spellbinder dies, stamped my sentiment and added a ribbon. Finally, I used a yellow Fairy Tale Rose by Prima and two mini roses by I Am Roses. I also used Recollection pearls in the corner.

Since the card is slightly larger than a regular A2 sized card, I placed it in a 5”x7” envelope. This is also a good idea if you have a very dimensional card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~
If I am not following you, please leave your blog information below…thanks J

Scrappin With Sharon and Smokey Creative Team Project

Hello Krafthead,
I hope everyone had a great time with family and friends on Christmas. I can’t believe it is over!
Today, I would like to share a sympathy card with you as a Scrappin’ with Sharon and Smokey’s Creative Team Project. My Mother’s friend lost her sister on Christmas day and I knew these files would be perfect. I used RM00155 for the frame and RM00090 for the flowers.
I threaded sheer ribbon through the frame and tied the ribbon into a bow. For the flowers, I used Tattered Rose and Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist. I had leaves and Prima Say it with Pearls in my stash. The paper is from DCWV’s Bella Amor Stack. The sentiment is from a rubber stamp I have. That was cut using the smallest Nestability. I added pearls (from my stash) to the corners to finish off the card.
Be sure to drop by Sharon's store and check out these files and others! She is always adding new files!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Creative Team project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~
