Practical Scrappers DT-Leave an Impression Mixed Media

Hello Krafters,

If you are a card maker, more than likely you use stamps for sentiments and an occasional image. Did you know you can use stamps for more than that? Oh yes! Stamps can be used to make pattern paper, add interest on layouts and just add the right element to a project. Check out how the Practical Scrappers DT used stamps. Today I decided to use a stamp on my mixed media project! Mixed media is a hot new trend. It is so much fun to do!

I cut down a piece of chipboard to 2.5x3.5". I used a collage stamp on some clay that I had in my stash. While that was in the oven, I layered some tissue paper on top of the chipboard for texture. Once the clay was set, I added it to the ATC. I added some flowers, chain and metal embellishments that I had in my stash.

 Next I painted everything with white Gesso. After the Gesso dried (I helped it using my heat tool), I added some Lindy's Stamp Gang (Gossamer Gold and Delphinium). Once, the sprays were dry, I stamped the collaged image with black Stazon Ink. Then I added Goosebumps spray for more texture.

Le Romantic-Vintage

Hi Krafters,

I know I have been sharing a lot of cards lately. The reason why I do so many cards is because it allows me to do what I enjoy, but they are so easy to get completed. I long for the day when I can do a bunch of layouts. However, I am slower than molasses when I do them.

Today, I want to share some vintage ATCs I recently made for a swap over at sb.com. I had so much fun putting these together. I may even make one for myself LOL.  However, we were to make three cards.

As I mentioned, these were to be for the vintage category. The first paper line I thought about was Graphic 45’s Le Romantic. That paper line is so beautiful and screams vintage! 

I distressed all of the edges with the TH Distress Tool. I did a lot of fussy cutting from the collection.  I also used vintage lace which was colored with Clam Baked Beige by Lindy’s Stamp Gang (one of my favorite sprays). *Sidebar, Lindy’s matches perfectly with G45 papers* I had the charms were in my stash and the vintage buttons were RAK’d to by my sis. Hi Krafters!

In April or May, I participated in an ATC swap hosted by Queenbeescreations. The theme was grunge. I had so much fun putting them together!

For the base, I took plain white cardstock and grunged it up! I used distress ink, bubble wrap, stains, Lindy's Stamp Gang, background stamps and crackle paint. Then I used an embossing folder and tore it to futher distress it. I used Inka Gold to make it look distressed. The pattern paper and the ticket is is from DCWV's Tattered Time. The butterfly was punched out using the Martha Stewart punch and it was stamped with white ink. Then I embossed it.

The gears were cut from the Spellbinder dies. I painted them and embossed them. I used Inka Gold to distress it.

I added a clock charm and chain to finish off the design.

Fun in the Sun-Happy 4th!

Hey Everyone!

I am sharing another ATC from a swap I was in at sb.com. For this swap, I chose the interactive cards. We had to make some component on the card move in some way. I decided to do a slider with a hidden message. I am also proud to say, my Cricut got some loving too J so this ATC was also submitted in the Cricut Challenge as well.

Since I went with a beach theme, I used real sand (decorative). I used the Life’s a Beach Cricut Cartridge and the All Wrapped Up Imagine Cartridge for the colors and patterns. The flower on the flip flop is a Recollections flower with bling in the center.

Hello All!

I was in an ATC swap at sb.com. For this swap, we had to make three ATCs that had to include a bird and or a butterfly. I decided to include both on mine. I used a Poppy Stamp die for the birdcage. The birds and butterfly cameos came from my stash. I colored them with some acrylic paint to go with the 7 Gypsies Conservatory Paper collection. Not pictured, but I also used a stamp from that same collection on the back.

ATC Swap

Hello Krafters!

I’m here to share with you some ATCs I made for a swap over on YouTube. This is my first time doing ATCs as well as a swap-with the exception of swapping goodies! I really hope the recipients like them.

I used my Cricut and Gypsy to design these. The cuts are from Christmas Noel (wreath), Joys of the Season (stockings) and Christmas Cheer (fireplace and candles). For the wreath, I also used the Martha Stewart pine tree branch punch (discontinued).

For the fireplace: Since I don’t have the Sizzix brick embossing folder (I so want it badly), I used one of my Cuttlebug folders that was as close to a brick pattern as possible. I used fire brick distress ink and black soot to make it look as if the fireplace is used.
