Altenew Sympathy Card

Hello Krafters,

My mother is very special to me. However, she is a last minute person. Today’s project is a last minute request as she was waiting for her ride to go out of town. Her spiritual mother’s grandmother passed away. She lived to be 109 years old! My mom attended the funeral which was out of town. While waiting, she said, “Oh no, I forgot to get a card!” I gave her that really look. Then she went on to ask if I could make one.

This is a non traditional sympathy card color scheme. I really wanted to use the Altenew Vintage Rose stamp set. I have the Lawn Fawn Lobster, Rose, and Cranberry inks. It just so happened, I was using cranberry card stock on a previous project so it worked out. I used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitch Dies to cut the mat. I had to fussy cut the roses and leaves since I do not have the dies yet. I added a little clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I stamped the sentiment in the LF cranberry ink.For some reason, I like to add butterflies to sympathy cards. I think it reminds me of the circle of life in some way and the beauty of it. Anywho, I added the butterfly which was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added pearls to the body as well as to the top of the card to finish it off.

Although it is not pictured, I repeated the same on the inside of the card to tie it all together.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Teacher Appreciation-Canvases

Hello Krafters!

Today I am sharing more Teacher Appreciation gifts! I decided to make them something they can keep forever or pass on to someone else if they choose to. One of the teachers is having dental problems so she could not thoroughly enjoy her sweet treat. So I decided to do a few altered canvases. They were fun to put together and I used products I haven’t touched in a long time (textured paste, Smooch, mixatives, and Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays).

I used two different Bo Bunny paper pads for the background and butterflies. I used two different Martha Stewart butterfly punches. The flowers are Prima, I Am Roses and from stampingscrapping.com. I colored them with different colors of LSG. I used a few book charms from my stash. Those were colored with mixatives. The saying came from stickers from Authentic and Bo Bunny.

The projects were simple and came out better than I expected! I really need to use my camera and stop using my phone because they look so much better in real life! I am on the late show, but I think I found a new addictions in doing canvases!!! I hope you enjoyed today’s project(s)! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Nature's Beauty

Hello All!

I was in an ATC swap at sb.com. For this swap, we had to make three ATCs that had to include a bird and or a butterfly. I decided to include both on mine. I used a Poppy Stamp die for the birdcage. The birds and butterfly cameos came from my stash. I colored them with some acrylic paint to go with the 7 Gypsies Conservatory Paper collection. Not pictured, but I also used a stamp from that same collection on the back.

That is it! I had so much fun putting these together! Thank you all so much for stopping by, Krafthead~

Violin Birthday~

Happy Friday Krafters~
TGIF!! Today, I am sharing a birthday card for my SIL. She turned 18 on the 21st and she is a very accomplished violinist. I never used the Quarter Note cartridge. So I thought her love for the violin and her birthday was a perfect union for this card.
The base is white Bazzill (standard A2 size) distressed with Walnut Distress Ink. I used the Imagine More Imagine Cartridge for the pattern paper cut at 4x5.25”. The brown layer is Core’dinations Chocolate Lovers.
I used a labels Nestability for the background and the violin is cut at 3” from the Quarter Note Cricut Cartridge. I also stamped a ticket from an Inkadinkado stamp set. The sentiment comes from Close to My Heart which was stamped with Rich Cocoa Momento Ink. I then embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. The flowers are I Am Roses and some other flowers I purchased from Karlas001 etsy store a little while back. I also had a pearl strand I purchased from Karla in my stash. The butterfly is a charm that was also in my stash.
To give the card a little shimmer, I sprayed it with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Have a great weekend and “see” you all on Monday for another project, Krafthead~

Happy Thursday Krafters!
Today, I would like to share a layout with you all. On scrapbook.com, I belong to the group Jesus Girlz. On the forum one of the sisters, Kathy, shared a list of scriptures that will help with a number of issues we face regularly. Another sister, Lissa, made a beautiful layout using the provided scriptures. So this layout was inspired and lifted from them!

Sophie

Hello Krafters!

Today, I would like to share a project I made using Sophie. This is a very versatile cartridge. It is my second favorite Circle cartridge to date.  Anywho, I love butterflies and I thought this was the perfect project.
I used the card feature to cut out the card base in Paper Trey Ink’s Cream cardstock. For the pattern paper, I used various pieces of The Paper Studio Antique.  The butterfly was cut using the layer feature. I ran the card base and butterfly through the Cuttlebug using the Musical Flourish Embossing Folder.
I used white lace from my stash. To match the project, I dyed it using gold Glimmer Mist. As the lace dried, I inked the edges of the card base and butterfly using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I added small pearls to the butterfly and the four corners. I attached the lace and added larger pearls with my glue gun.
On the inside of the card, I used the Martha Stewart Butterfly Edge Punch to add interest. It was punched using the same pattern paper used for the matting and butterfly on the outside. That’s it! A quick and easy project that can be used for several occasions.  Thanks for visiting, Krafthead~
