Hi Krafters,
Today over at Practical Scrappers it is all about scallops! Scallops can add interest and texture to projects. We have them in every way imaginable! Go over to the blog and check out the talent!
I used a Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Die to emboss the edge to this project. It adds a lot of textures and dimension to the card and envelope. Inside embossed edge, I added recollection pearls which were colored with Copic Markers. I also punched out butterflies using two different Martha Stewart punches. I added Stickles to the smaller butterflies and a dots to the larger one. Easy peasy!
I know this was short, but I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Fabulous
Hi Krafters!
I am starting to feel human again. This week is Teacher's Appreciation
week and Sunday is Mother's Day. I have to say, I am not prepared this year. Here
is a gift that can be used for either occasion. I have made these before. However, I wanted to share anyway. They can be
done in less than 10 minutes from start to finish! Also, they are good for mass producing!
I always keep hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works on
hand just in case I need a fast gift. I needed something fast since I have not
been feeling well. Anywho, originally I used the instructions from Dawn on YT,
but I tweaked the measurements to fit my needs. Start with double sided paper. I
used some from BoBunny. One side is for the holder and the other side is for
layering (this is part of the secret of making this quickly). Follow Dawn's
tutorial and you have a cute but quick gift! Yep I was rushing so much, I snapped a quick photo with my cell phone before heading off to bed!
I am using these as
teacher gifts even though they do not reflect. They are fabulous nonetheless! I
hope you enjoyed today's project. Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

Old School Just a Note
Hi Krafters,
I am going old school today. This design is one of the first I used
when I first started making cards. It taught me how to mix pattern papers. When
I need to put together a quick card or just want to get in my craft room, this
is my go to design! It can be used for any occasion too J
For this card, I used the Paula Deen paper which was RAK’ed
by Kelli. It has a country feel to it and like that! I also used the tags die
by Spellbinders which I offset on the bottom of the card. I used the Martha
Stewart punch for the butterflies. The flourish was made with the Inkssentials
Enamels Accents. I think I like this more than my beloved Viva Décor Pens.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thanks for stopping by,
Krafthead~

Practical Scrappers DT: A World of Thanks
Hello Krafters!
Today over at Practical Scrappers it is all about transparencies!
Transparencies are often forgotten, but can add a little something extra to
your projects! Please stop by and see all of the awesome projects for the
talented DT!
I decided to use my Imagine to print a pattern on a
transparency. I love to do this from time to time. It mutes the colors down a
bit, but it makes the pattern look shimmery. When you do this, you want to flip
your image because the ink does not dry all the way. I mounted it on a white
mat.
Notice the green on the label. It is the same exact color as
the color on the transparency. You can really see the difference printing on a
different medium makes! To this, I used the Picot die to cut more transparency material
and used a punch for the butterfly!
I hope you liked today’s project showcasing transparencies. Thanks
for stopping by, Krafthead~

SOC DT Project: Try, Try & Try Again-You Go Girl!
Hello Everyone!
My daughter is vertically challenged and I would have to help her up the ladder so she can play on the slide. This particular day we were at the playground she was determined to do it by herself. I was so happy I could capture her victory (even though the pictures are not the greatest)! Looking at her that day made me realize life is full of risks. She could have fallen down and hurt herself. That was my worry, but obviously not hers. That was inspiration for this project!
Crafting can be risky too. You can have a project failure or a project success. I used wood grain paper and different pattern papers which is something that would have frightened me a year ago. Honestly, I had to try, try, and try again before I was satisfied with this layout. Considering this layout is not “my style” I would put this in the success pile!
The papers came from different stacks by DCWV. I hand cut the different pattern papers to mimic the waves in the slide. The doily is from the WRMK Lucky 8 Tattered Doily Punch. I cut the slide from the Playground Equipment digital cartridge on Cricut Craft Room which doubled as the journaling spot. The title was cut on the Silhouette. The flowers are I Am Roses and the butterflies were made from a punch by Martha Stewart.
What crafting risks have you taken or do you want to take? Is it a new technique or papers you usually don’t use? Whatever your risk is, remember to try, try, and try again….you will succeed! Stop by Scraps of Color for more project inspiration! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Altered Fan-G45 A Ladies Diary
Hi Krafters!
I have another project using that beautiful A Ladies Diary paper by G45! Martica opened up another group (altered fans) for those of us who were done with our projects. This project took me out of my comfort zone since I never altered anything like this before. I had so much fun with this one and yes there is a lot of fussy cutting on this one too!
The fan pattern was cut from chipboard (2x) using the Pagoda Cricut Cartridge. I painted it with ivory Folk Art Paint. Once it dried, I used crackle paint and sealed it with Mod Podge. All of the layers made the fan sturdier. Between the layers, I added the lace. Again, my sister Kelli rak'ed me that beautiful lace!
I hope you enjoyed another project using G4's A Ladies Diary. Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

True Love
Hello Krafters!
Many of us Krafters love to use EVERYTHING! I printed a photo
of my friend and her hubby in B&W when I was doing the tile for them. I scrapped
my original idea for a card and decided to use this photo of them for a true
personalized card. I love how the photo crinkled because it makes the picture
look aged!
Short and sweet J
I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Have a good day, Krafthead~
